Welcome
Happy Summer!
Update: 3rd & 4th July at Tobacco Factory, Bristol now cancelled!
So here's what I've been up to so far this summer... I'm 3 weeks into the Summer tour of It Hasn't Happened Yet... and it's generally going well. I say generally because the shows, audience response and the play itself are great but with the world cup, the good weather and Wimbledon, the audiences have been a bit scarce. The show at Komedia in Brighton had to be postponed until the 21st September and after low ticket sales and a review that said Morris dancing was more fun than my show, the last couple of nights at the lovely Tobacco Factory in Bristol have been pulled. Taking this to heart I will now be performing the rest of my tour wearing colourful ribbons and bells around my crippled limbs. For that alone it's worth coming to see. In case the bells and ribbons aren't enough of a lure, how about this: the previous version of the play was critics choice in Time Out and The Guardian, it received a 4 star review in The Metro and Disability Arts Online called it 'uncomfortable, wicked, mesmerising'! So, unless you're on your death bed, on a Do Not Resuscitate order or heading to Switzerland, you've no excuse for not coming along.

As well as all this acting
mallarkey, I've just recorded the July edition of the
Ouch! talkshow which is now available
to download here. With Mat Fraser being
a freak at Coney Island all summer, my co-host this
month was Simon Minty and our guest is Frank Gardner -
the BBC Security Correspondent who became a crip after
being shot by Al-Qaeda gunmen. He talks about his
travels both before and after becoming a wheelchair
user. Fascinating stuff.
Later this month, I'll be heading over to New York to
perform in Criptease - a night of crippy
burlesque and comedy at the very ooh la la sounding, Le
Poisson Rouge. If you're in town, come on over.
Then in August, it's time for something completely
different. I'm going to be working with the
incredibly talented Simon Mckeown and Paul Darke
from Motion Disabled.
Back gigging in September at The Liberty Festival,
Trafalgar Square and on 10th September as part
of Abnormally Funny
People at Soho Theatre. Check
my gigs page for rest of my autumn dates
so far.
Whatever you're doing, I hope you have a great summer.
Wherever I'll be, you can pretty much always find me
on Facebook so why not say hi, poke me
or throw a 3 legged sheep in my direction?
