Summertime

And here's what I've been up to in the past few months...

As part of the 4Talent production trainee scheme, I've been working for Hat Trick Productions for the past 9 months (they're the people behind shows like Have I Got News For You, Outnumbered, Episodes, Father Ted and a zillion other programmes you'll be familiar with!).  After years of being freelance, an office job did come as a shock to the system but I'm chuffed that my work has made it to the credits for ITV's Dinner Date and the latest BBC series of Have I Got News for You.

I'm still doing stand-up, mostly as part of the Abnormally Funny People lineup at their monthly Soho Theatre show.  And then of course there's the Liberty disability arts festival which this year moves from it's regular Trafalgar Square home to the South Bank (on Saturday 3rd September).  Along with deaf comedian Steve Day, I'll be MC-ing the afternoons proceedings in the Clore Ballroom at the Royal Festival Hall.  Apparently all of our material has to be family friendly so wish me luck!  Check out my gigs page for full details of where and when I'll be performing next.

There's lots of bits and pieces happening including auditions, play read throughs and possible shows about the funny side of assisted suicide.  After my appearance on the Newsnight Special following the Terry Pratchett assisted suicide documentary, I've become even more passionate about creating an alternative show that provides a balanced, informed and maybe even humourous look at this hot topic.  Watch this space for more news on all this in the coming weeks.

And of course, as ever you'll find me as the regular co-presenter of the BBC's Ouch! podcast.  It's funny, informative and ever so irreverent so don't forget to tune in every fortnight for a new edition of the show.

Have a great summer and if you fancy popping by to say hello, you can always find me on Facebook.
